Unlocking a Bitlocker Encrypted Computer

1)    Boot up the computer

2)    Press Enter when prompted

3)    Take note of the computer name

4)    Open up Active Directory Users and Computers

5)    Find the computer name

6)    Open the properties for the computer

7)    Click on the BitLocker Recovery tab

8)    Click on the entry that corresponds with the recovery key listed on the locked computer’s screen.

9)    Take note of the recovery password in AD

10)  Type in the recovery password on the locked computer

1)    Computer is now unlocked
